It's swell

It makes me want a lolipop. The teeth are fun, the expression is fun. Your attention to detail and application in a simplistic way is so fun, lolipop.

I love your style.

It seems so natural, not like you're forcing anything abstract.

I'd love to see you plan out some kind of scene or concept though.

My only suggestion is more room at the top, I think it'd look better with more stars and such and just more space from the top to the top of the head.

I also find it odd she has an odd number of hands, but it might have been for a purpose I don't know.

Keep it up.

iter-intergalactic responds:

Haa yes,
They were suposed to be 5 hands of 5 persons
but her feet look so weird, so i crop the image including the other 2 hands

And it was my birthay 19, so i made 19 stars
It was something symbolic

Thanks for your tips
Cheers !

Eh...

It's a good drawing, but it's not a good rendition of The Joker.

I suppose it's alri.ght, considering you based it off of Heath Ledger's version and not the "true" version.

As a drawing unassociated with The Joker, I'd give it a 8-9 but as a drawing that's supposed to adapt The Joker as a female, it's around 1-4

The Joker's originas

Two versions of it that are most popular, one being that he was a failed comedian with a pregnant wife, he is desperate for money and joins a gang that runs a villain called the Red Hood, by each switching off as the Hood when they go about their crimes. While trying to rob a place, The Joker is grief stricken and takes on the heist. He falls into a vat of toxic chemicals while Batman tries to thwart him and his hair is bleached and so is his skin. That's The Killing Joke version.
The second being that he was he was a bored hitman and started committing violence at random and meets Batman for the first time, the rush the meeting creates prompts him to do more heinous killings and even capture Bruce Wayne's love at the time. Batman is furious so he sends the mob to kill the guy, and the mob takes him to an abandoned facility, he falls into a vat and punctures a tank above him. Batman throws a batarang at him and he escapes but the batarang creeates a glasgow grin for the Joker.

I like you version, but it's doesn't catch his insanity, his sorrow or his good taste in clothes.

NoseMeat responds:

^.^ Thanks for sharing that. I'm sorry but I really wasn't aiming for a certain version, I was just doodleing something.

Haha excellent

I love the surreal nature of your art, usually I dislike surrealism but you're an exception. Rock on.

iter-intergalactic responds:

Thank you very much !
I wanted to draw something related to seeds and plants,
and this was how i imagined it

Cheers !

Didn't get all the incarnations

Bah, you are complaining about nepotism and his style? Why would Tim Burton making things in his style almost always not be his style anymore? That doesn't make sense.

As far as nepotism goes, it's common in the film industry and Johnny Depp is a versatile actor. I mean, while some characters he played working under Tim Burton have been similar (Edward Scissorhands & Ichabod Crane) there are also wide variations (Ed Wood & Willy Wonka).

The design of the Mad Hatter is different from most of the Burton designs of the past, and there was not enough scenes in the teaser to even know how Johnny Depp is going to play the part.

The cropping of the drawings and the missing characters from Burton/Depp collabs are what makes this kinda lame. It'd be a funnier statement if it was about Nicholas Cage's ability to play the same role each time or something.

AlmightyHans responds:

thanks for your opinion

By far your best work

This one shows a better understanding of the body, though you exaggerated the proportions, you might have done this for "style".

Thigns that take away fro it is the writing on the top left and the contrasting red lines you put on the cape, which don't mesh well or accent anything really, in my opinion.

Keep learning!

It's okay

I like the concept, the only problem is the proportions of the character. There's many techniques to "edit" mistakes in painting, but judging from your other works, you aren't here for painting, it's alright for someone new to paint.

Francisco Goya

There's a painting called Saturn Devourign His Son that is very similar in concept to this.

The only things that bother me is his foot size and his hand.

SmokeryDots responds:

Okay, I will see if I can find it. hehe... curious:-)

Yes, youre right, it kind of bothers me too:-) -but hey... :-D

Eh perspective

The perspective is bothering me, you got some of the concept of a vanishing point down, but things don't seem to add up exactly. When doing something with this many lines going to a vanishing pioint, it's critical to take into consideration how much "line checking" you have to do to make sure they all go to where they are supposed to.

There are multiple problems with the character art too, the arm that's foreshortened is not contorted correctly, the arms length is off, because you decided to foreshorten it, the skew of the arm needs to be closer to the bend and the forearm is too long to accomodate it, making him arm longer than it should be, while the proportion of the arm and the hand seem wrong as the slope of the arm to the hand is not there and the bends you put in the arm (maybe for muscles) make it odd.

The reason the hand looks odd is the thumb, of course it could be just the design of the character, but the way the thumb is bent and how big it is does not compute for me.

msg2007 responds:

well you made good points, but you have to understand that i know more then enough about perspective, and foreshortening too the point were i can break the rules if i want because i know them already... everything you see her was intentional from a design point of view

thanks for the review
