Rotoscope?

IF it isn't then awesome! If it is then good way to build an understanding of the way light works on the face and other things

Toast-Tony responds:

I honestly don't know what rotoscope is, please explain :)

EDIT! I found out what Rotoscope is... it is not rotoscope :) drawn from a reference but in a different position, expression etc, freehand.

Nice!

Probably the main detracting aspect of the work is the lack of detail or the overtly fuzzy treatment.

I think the face and hair is done quite well, then you kinda trail off and the body is more of a distraction than an addition to the work

Pasturn responds:

Good critique. Yeah, I do tend to slack off a lot at the body, reminds me I need to work on it.

I'm an owl

Whooooo would have though;P

Pretty cool, I think the background needs to be a bit more complete

gmanthesandwhichking responds:

Yeah, i'm not very good at backgrounds. That and I was on a pretty short time frame on this one, I had to do it in one night, so I didn't really focus on the background too much.

Neato

I actually disagree with most of the reviews and like how the pallet is not too broad, and I probably wouldn't like the technique involving shadow play.

You said mine was better, you dirty liar! xD

Fifty-50 responds:

No I did think yours was better. And I posted that review when this wasn't even a sketch yet. I had many ideas. I scrapped a lot of ideas.

Really nice

It's playful and kinda creepy, the fun lighting you did here makes it pop

iCleon responds:

Thank you for the feedback.

Neat

Hehe, it's Tim Burton meets Where The Wild Things Are meets Kingdom Hearts Meets Legend of Zelda.

It's pretty spiffy that you took that "creepy" style that's so popular with the kids and made something interesting the one eyes through a wooden mask reminds me of my Hedoca drawing randomly.

Hoboweasel responds:

Hedoca? Anyway, I appreciate the review, thanks! :D

Neat

Makes me think Zelda/Okami meets Kingdom Hearts. the extremes of light and dark are interesting but the drawings feels empty, in that it's lacking content. I think it lost meaning in the abstraction.

Hoboweasel responds:

Probably, but I was kinda lost when I was drawing this... Didn't know what to do...

Blow out

Well, I like it, the character vaguely reminds me of the evil chick from Captain Planet. The angle you drew her in is solid and interesting and done well. My only gripe is that the sidewalk should probably bend more and the buildings should be a bit larger in my opinion.

Aside from that it's funky fresh with some fries to go with that shake, daddy-o.

Madame-origami responds:

Why thank you~
And yes, I agree. I need to work much harder on Backgrounds.

Wow

This is a greeat of example of why your style is awesome to the point of recognition. I really like the paper folds they give some dynamic nature to the image. It's gritty and dim. I think this one is my favourite of the contest entries thusfar.

dommi-fresh responds:

cool thanks. hopefully i will get a place ... but if not at least i entered
