Blow out

Well, I like it, the character vaguely reminds me of the evil chick from Captain Planet. The angle you drew her in is solid and interesting and done well. My only gripe is that the sidewalk should probably bend more and the buildings should be a bit larger in my opinion.

Aside from that it's funky fresh with some fries to go with that shake, daddy-o.

Madame-origami responds:

Why thank you~
And yes, I agree. I need to work much harder on Backgrounds.

Wow

This is a greeat of example of why your style is awesome to the point of recognition. I really like the paper folds they give some dynamic nature to the image. It's gritty and dim. I think this one is my favourite of the contest entries thusfar.

dommi-fresh responds:

cool thanks. hopefully i will get a place ... but if not at least i entered

Cool

The head seems to be really concentrated on, but the attention to detail kinda dwindles past the visor/glasses.

I think the line that creates the land in the glasses should be inverted actually unless it's a hill, so that it'd show that he was short and give a more dynamic feel.

Hoboweasel responds:

Yeah, well sort of... I'm not sure, it was more of a convex lens reflection so I would assume it would be largest in the middle. However, I didn't use a reference for the reflection, so you may be right. Still, thanks for the review!

Pon Pon Pata Pon

It's pretty funny but it feels unfinished.

Love it

Love how Modest Mouse seemed to have inspired this, I use music to inspire me a lot!

The robot is so fun looking and the clash of it's inorganic nature and the green and wholesomeness of the landscape is good.

Eh

It's kinda boring, the colouring is alright but there's that weird green on the viewer's right and it's mostly black in the center but the light goes quickly back to normal on the viewer's left.

I guess it's alright since it's a still from an animation but as a piece of art it's rather boring. In my opinion.

Plette responds:

I can appreciate that. My intent was more to give people a taste of what the art style was gonna be like than anything else; if you look at the stuff they did for Majora's Mask you'll see where I got it from lol.

Truth be told, though, I originally posted this in the forums to try and get rescouted, since after the Art Portal got hacked everyone lost their scouted status. And since it was in the forums, I figured I'd post it in the Portal. Never dreamed this would get front-paged, either. Hopefully the cartoon fares just as well ^_^

Hahah

It's awesome.

Love it

Tricked the world into thinking it was something provocative.

I don't agree that it looks poorly put together or anything like that, it's just a bit unfinished in the colouring, I think.

Neat-o

Not a fan of Witchblade but I love the facial expression and pose you chose for this. I'm not much for barely clothed women but this one's a keeper.

Sabtastic responds:

Aw, thanks. :)

A nice character you got there

The only thing that bugs me is her hips and legs, it seems a little odd. But your style is quite awesome.
